“Students Win Robotics Competition.”
This newspaper article tells about the successes of the robotics team at Carl Hayden High, an inner-city school in Arizona. Since their upset win over high school and university teams at a national competition in 2004, the robotics team has transformed the school and its image. The school is now known as the robot school, and the robotics program has become very popular with students
throughout the school. Most seniors from the robotics team go on to college on full scholarships.
Although the team has not been as successful in competitions recently, they have repeatedly won awards for helping to get others involved in
science and engineering.
