" THE MARBLE CHAMP"




This is a story about a shy girl named Lupe. She is a straight-A student and has won many awards at school. Although she does very well at school, Lupe is terrible at sports. She decides to change this and makes up her mind to become
good at playing marbles. There is a school marble championship coming up in a few weeks, and Lupe begins training very hard for it. She discovers that she is
really good at playing marbles and does very well in the competition.

Character motivation: explains why a character does certain

things. Motivation is what drives a character’s actions. A

character may be motivated by many things.

Suspense: is a feeling of excitement or curiosity about what is

going to happen next in a piece of literature. Writers create

suspense by hinting at things to come. They also raise questions in the readers’ minds
